Fog Bog Log
- Today I traveled 16.3 miles with 4314 feet of ascent and 6171 feet of descent. I really should’ve been keeping track of descent on all of the past days. Big descent days hurt the legs too.
- 90% of today’s hike was covered in fog and mist. I’m a sucker for a good foggy mountain pic, lots of my phone and desktop backgrounds over the years have included a foggy forest, so I snapped a lot of pictures today.
- I passed a few other SOBOS today including Michael who I sat at a bar and ate dinner with back in Stratton. It was great seeing him again and we ended up staying at the same campsite a catching up.
- My optimistic plan for today was to hike 20.8 miles to Frye Notch Lean-to, but halfway through the day I realized I wasn’t on pace. The constant ups and downs of today’s hike made it for a slower than usual hike.
- In two or so days I’m going to start getting into the toughest section of Maine so it’s good to get more use to a slower pace now.
Peace!
